one' announces timetable changes from Monday 7th February

'one' has announced a number of timetable changes to the company's
Mainline and Rural services to be implemented from Monday 7 February
2005.

The changes are being introduced following rigorous monitoring of the
timetable by 'one' and evaluation of the customer feedback received
since the new timetable commenced in December 2004.

Train service performance has been excellent during January, with
punctuality consistently in excess of 90% demonstrating that the basis
of the new timetable is performing well and delivering improvements in
punctuality and reliability.

Following the company's completion of the initial monitoring period of
the new timetable, and in recognising the specific needs of some rail
passengers, the main changes to be introduced from 7 February include:
#

An additional afternoon train between London and Colchester,
specifically timed to meet some key journey needs for school children
#

Additional stops in evening peak services from London at Kelvedon and
Manningtree
#

An additional morning service stop at Hythe for students travelling to
the University
#

Additional late evening stop at Alresford and Great Bentley
#

Additional call at Worstead on 07.45 Norwich - Sheringham service
#

A number of other changes to provide additional station stops

In addition to the changes announced today, 'one' is continuing to
consult with stakeholders including the Rail Passengers' Committee and
local Rail User Groups and engaging with customers on how the new
timetable is settling in.

In this respect, the Rail Passengers' Committee will be carrying out a
number of surveys at key stations during February as part of this
monitoring process.

In continuing to review matters moving forward, some further changes
will be considered for implementation in June 2005 when timetable
enhancements will be introduced for the summer, and again at the
December 2005 timetable change.

Commenting on the February timetable changes, Tim Clarke, managing
director of 'one', said:

"In recognising that some passengers have raised concerns in respect of
the new timetable, we have listened to feedback and will continue to do
so in ensuring that we are able to provide the best possible level of
service for all our customers. These changes reflect our commitment to a
positive dialogue with rail passengers and stakeholders.

"Overall, we are extremely encouraged by the performance benefits that
the new timetable is providing through improving standards of
punctuality and reliability. I am confident that the combination of
better punctuality and a positive process of engagement with our
customers to consider some possible further adjustments to the timetable
in June and December, will enable us to continue to shape our services
to meet the vast majority of needs, and in delivering further
improvements."

The following timetable changes will be introduced from Monday 7
February:

Mondays to Fridays
#

00.48 Liverpool Street to Colchester will call additionally at Gidea
Park at 01.07 (not Mondays);
#

07.08 Liverpool Street to Clacton will call additionally at Hythe at
08.11;
#

15.32 New service from Liverpool Street to Colchester, dep Liverpool
Street 15.32 and calling at, Shenfield 15.55, Ingatestone 15.59,
Chelmsford 16.06, Hatfield Peverel 16.13, Witham 16.18 and arrive
Colchester at 16.33;
#

15.48 Colchester to Liverpool Street will call additionally at Kelvedon
at 15.59;
#

17.02 Liverpool Street to Harwich International will call additionally
at Kelvedon at 17.50;
#

18.00 Liverpool Street to Norwich will call additionally at Manningtree
at 19.02;
#

18.02 Liverpool Street to Ipswich will call additionally at Kelvedon at
18.50;
#

22.18 Liverpool Street to Clacton will call additionally at Alresford at
23.29 & Great Bentley at 23.33.

Saturdays
#

00.48 Liverpool Street to Colchester will call additionally at Gidea
Park at 01.07;

16.00 Liverpool Street to Norwich will call additionally at Stowmarket
at 17.20;

22.18 Liverpool Street to Clacton will call additionally at Alresford at

Mondays to Saturdays

On the Bittern Line between Norwich and Sheringham, the 07.45 Norwich to
Sheringham service will call additionally at Worstead at 08.07.
